I was gonna change my spark plugs, but the engine is still frikkin hot as fWONk. :uhoh:
I picked up a set of Delco iridium plugs from Advance the other day.
how much were they?? and let me know how they work out for you...i want to upgrade mine too!

From everything I've been hearing and reading, thats one of the few plugs that actually do good in these 5.3 Chevy engines. They sell for $7.99 a peice at Advance, but I got them for $5.10 each since I had a 20% off coupon.
Do the 5.3's burn up plugs or what? AC Delco's don't last?

Thats what I bought, AC Delco Iridium plugs. :dunno: I've been hearing that regular copper core plugs don't last. The only recommended replacements are iridium or platinum.

Replaced both front axles

That's no fun. At least I don't like to do it.

It took me three hours or so but I got it done  Having air tools sure helped. The worst part was I knocked a couple of beers over while scooting around on my little stool(has wheels) :fume:

Damnit gramps! Wasting good beer like that! You better get yourself back out to that garage and fabricate a couple of beer holders for that little stool! :fume:

:jester:

Funny thing Bernie,a beer holder came with it.I tried it a couple of times but came close to sitting on the bottle, didn't want that :jester:
Here's a pic of the stool

So, you'd have to switch to cans... to protect your can? :D2

Is there a big difference between the Iridium and RapidFire? Or are those the same?

They say Iridium is OE on my truck. They don't even list the Rapidfire as available for my truck. Every plug listed for my truck is either Platinum or Iridium. :dunno:
Go search Advance autoparts' site. Look for all plugs for a 2001 Suburban 1500 with a 5.3 and you'll see. :dunno:

OK. Just was curious as I put in RapidFire on my 350 (obviously I know its not an LS motor).

The 145 was an option on several of the older GMs. Also, better check before you try to install it that the plug connection for the field windings is the same. GM used several different styles over the years.[/QUOTE]

I'll have to compare the plug ins. Thanks
