On wifey's Burb....got the oil changed,washed it & put a new serpentine belt on it.Everyone's happy now
Thanks for reminding me. Putting one on the 6.0 sure is a lot different than the 5.7.

I haven't replaced it yet, only looked at it. It's probably not as difficult as I'm interpreting it to be.
At least it's only one belt.My old '77 GMC had three or four IIRC
I'm guessing our younger members don't remember having more than one belt
I had to change the belts on the 'rents old '88 Suburban... I wanted to help so my dad gave me the tools, belts and then said he'd be back in awhile and went in the house

Should be pretty much the same as your old 5.7... Maybe some slightly different routing... But not much.

The '96 and I have a LOVE/HATE Relationship
changed the oil in the 96 and in my father-in-law's truck. Stupid dealer has been using and oil vacume to get the old oil out and has never taken the drain plug out. Had to use a pipe wrench. Filled his back up with Rottlla T6 5w40, 11 qts of it, wow.
Looked in its general direction, trying to decide if I should go pull a spark plug and see if it's in good shape.

It's STUPID easy.
15mm box wrench on the tensioner pulley on the top left, pull it in, and pop the belt off. Reverse for installation.
I'd HIGHLY recommend doing the A/C belt at the same time, too. It's a pain in the ass to get to, but you can stick a 3/8" ratchet into the hole in the tensioner, so once you find a way to get your arms in there, it goes quick.
