last night my right side signal stopped signalling, the left side still works. when the signals are off the lights are still on at the rear of the truck. they are even on when the ignition is off. I have been disconecting the battery to not drain it. Today i bought a new flasher and replaced the old one. same thing is still happening. I checked the plugs/wires, all looks good-not wet or corroded.

i have been pulled over and warned.... Can anyone help me?

Could be a bad ground. I've seen those cause some really weird shit at times.

Could also be water in the socket, or a trailer light coupling that's shorted.

When you say your lights stay on... perhaps the brake light switch is keeping them on? Try pulling up on the brake pedal to see if they go off.

Kind of sounds like a grounding problem.

For the signal lights....
Since the flasher was replaced, the only other problem could be the turn signal switch.

Since you say the tail lights stay on even when the power is off, tell me the brake switch.

With the brake lights staying on I had a similar thing with my 1990, the spring that pulls the brake pedal up became weak and wouldn't pull the pedal up enough to depress the switch to turn the brake lights off. A big ass rubber band fixed it for me.

But since it coincides with the flasher issues it sounds like an electrical issue. Is is both front and back signals on the right side? What happens to the brake lights when the signals are used? Could be ground related. Could also be a hot wire is shorting to ground which is supplying constant power to the lights via the ground.
