What do you have against getting the battery tested?![]()

Nothing. Will do that tomorrow but I will go to other autozone not the one I went to the other day.

I also had a car that would not start when the engine got hot (operating temp) unless I jumped it off with another car (or battery). On that one it ended up being the starter. For some reason once the starter got hot, it needed waaaay more juice to crank.

If the battery checks out fine, have someone check the timing. I mentioned before that I had the same symptoms (cranked even slower the hotter it was) and it ended up being that the timing was off by a few degrees. Not saying thats what it is, just sayin its possible if you rule everything else out.I also had a car that would not start when the engine got hot (operating temp) unless I jumped it off with another car (or battery). Check your cables and clamps for corrosion also. Chances are, seeing that it's ten years old, the starter could be on its way out too. If you replace it, look for a high torque starter.

Do the auto parts stores sell high torque starters? How do I tell if its a high torque starter?
