get a interstate battery

Dave a have a Interstate battery and they last me just 3.5 years at the most. I never knew Duralast batteries lasted that long I was going to go with Wally World the next time but I think I just changed my mind since I learned about Duralast.

I never had problems with interstate batteries. I know those everstart batteries at wal-mart are junk.

3.5 years hardly seems like a bragging point. Unless you're doing something really weird with the battery.

I am sure JeemC wasn't bragging about the 3.5. He is saying thats the longest he has had one last which isn't very good and he's using something else next time. I don't know who made them, but I remember way back long ago, I bought an old car with a Union 76 battery in it. Who knows how old it was when I bought the car, but that battery transfered to both my trucks too, so I know I had it at least 7 years. Sadly that battery got lost while racing. The redneck bungy cord holding it down had gotten some corrosion on it and rotted. I was racing a buddy, and I lost that one. On lauch the battery ended up in the cooling fan. It wasn't a pretty site.

I have seen that before too Dave. And figured that Johnson Controls builds to the name brand specs. For example JeemC gets 3.5 years out of an Interstate. I have rarely seen a Delco/Freedom battery make it more than 2-3 months past its said time or 3 years. Then there are Duralast and Die Hard that go forever. I'd find it real hard to believe that Johnson makes any of the Walmart NEverstarts. Exide must make most of them. I just know, I'll always stick with Duralast and not have battery problems. Being used to auto headlights on the newer GM trucks, I have left the lights on in the box van for about 20 hours and the truck still started when I realized it.

My parents just replaced the ORIGINAL Delco battery in my 99 last year. And I replaced the original Delco battery in my 2007 a little before that.

Your parents did great. I have not had much luck with Delco's. Seem they get just past that warranty period and peter out. Its happened on 2 of my vechicles, and each to my mom and dad.

I'll second that. I just replaced a pair of three year old Delco's on my GMC this past January. Both had 72 month warranties but since I wasn't the original purchaser I didn't even try to file a warranty claim, just replaced 'em with a better rated pair from Costco.
