I have a 2003 F-250 and need a 5.4l motor. any help? I would rebuild my motor, but that would take to long and I will have to have the swap done in a weekend.

Hey Mike I moved this over to the truck and SUV section. I don't know about Ford crate motors but I'm sure some of our Ford guys know where to get them.

Sure wish I could make a suggestion McD, but not sure who is good on those Ford Mod motors, but it if makes you feel any better, I think you have the right idea. Are you going to be looking for a used motor or a new crate? Just be sure you get a reputable builder and check references if possible. I have built a couple of these Modular Ford motors, and I can assure you, they are not fun. Alot differant than just throwing an old small block Chevy or Ford together.

A LOT depends on what your budget is. A crate engine is going to be expensive but offers the best return. A used engine would be cheapest and if you look for the right one, it's a great option.

I'd stay away from the reman. engines on Jasper. I know where I live at the Jasper engines dont have a good reputation in chevys. The complaint I been hearing is that the Jasper doesn't have the stock power like the crate has. I dont know about using Jasper in a ford though. I also heard the same thing about using a crate in a Ford not having the stock power like a Jasper. This just what I heard.

I'd go used then rebuild it. Then swap.

Then sell or rebuild & sell the current engine to off set the price.:dunno:

For me if I go through the labor of an engine swap I'd want as "new" as possible. Rebuilding it gives you better parts cheaper then a crate with the same end results.
