I'M Too Custom To Choose A Lazy Title!!!
Here is the truck as it sits today.
This thing is in amazing shape for around here. The red paint is the original and no rust on cab at all. Bed floor is still good. Has been in storage since 1975.
I have a 1971 400 small block with a steel crank and 4 bolt mains. I'm looking at a scat rotating assembly. I have several big blocks but I think I'll do a real healthy small block for this one. Aluminum heads, a gear drive(pete jackson noisy), ford 9 inch, 4 wheel disc brakes, tci trans/converter, lots of sheetmetal work and replacement. Lets have some opinions!
Build was originally going to be a 66 long bed prostreet. Now it will still be a pro street but it will be a 63 short wide bed. Just got back from looking at a 63 short wide bed chevy. It has been in storage since 1975 and is in amazing shape. Luckily all the metal I ordered for the longbox will fit this truck. It doesnt need anything metal wise except the hood repaired. I posted in the local paper for parts for my 66 lb and this guy called tonight saying he had 3 60-66 chevy trucks. One is a 62 4x4 lb, the 63 I bought, and a 3/4 ton 2wd. Before we got back close to the sb, I knew when I left it would be mine. I was waiting to shell out $1500-$2000 considering the shape it's in. I asked him for what he wanted for it and he said, make me an offer. I said I dont like pricing another persons stuff and he said, how about $350...........I couldnt get the cash out fast enough. I have a rollback lined up for tomorrow morning to go get it and I'll post some pictures.
