The transfer case should be able to handle it. There are guys running completely stock setups pushing 600rwhp and it has held up. It splits the power between all 4 wheels.Even their new Lvl 7? I thought there was an s-10 running their lvl 7 around 1000hp?
Even a 4x4 S10 is 1000lbs lighter than Dan's truck
A beefed up 4L60E is more than enough for that little of weight
I wonder if Dan is shopping for a transfer case that can take that kind of power?
Yeah from what I've seen, the transfer case isn't really a weak link. I think Trever1t over on PT.net is running mid 11s on the stock transfer case.
Front diff, I'm not too sure about, but if it breaks, I'll fix it with something stronger. I haven't heard of many issues with that either, though.

The 1/2 ton transfer case should bolt right into my truck, then... Though, the only real difference between the two is that the 1/2 ton has a wider chain...
The front diff shouldn't give you any issues... Unless you're going all out in 4x4 and one wheel is spinning like mad, and the other catches...

As I said, you'll probably be fine as long as you're not spinning one wheel like crazy until the other catches
They use the 9.5" aluminum front diff from the 1-ton GM's in 900+HP Baja trucks...

Its still pretty humerous, I did chuckle, but hah its one of thoses things where 'once it happens to you' you look at it differently
