My 95 had 140,000 when I bought and over 250,000 9 years later when I got rid of it.
The first truck I ever owned I had for 10 years. After that, I'd get something different every 5 years. I'll be driving this one til it don't go no more.

I did sit down and do some ciphering the other day and came to the conclusion that I could afford a new truck if I quit smoking and drinking coke. Then I thought...what good would that do me because I'd be sitting in jail for killing somebody. Smokes and coca-cola are my sanity.

I've been smoking for damn near 45 years. It'd probably kill me to quit.
We should probably move this conversation to either good morning or old farts. :dunno:

My trailer is 7k dry and 10 gvwr. I haven't fully loaded the trailer with the bikes and all the gear yet, so i don't know what the real number is, nor how having so much weight (streetglide + softail) in the back will affect it. I also put loads in the bed a few times a year, up to a pallet (ton) of wood pellets, so the bags would be nice for that too.
For hauling things in the box alone, the bags are worth it. The trailer effects are a bonus.

I'd say your two bikes are within the ballpark od my ATV, maybe a little heavier.

Harleys are some heavy assed bitches.

Yep! 830 on the glide and 700 on the softail :)
That will lighten up your tongue weight, some... I had to run different settings on the WD bars depending on if I had the ATV in there, or not.

Yeah I hate towing heavy load with a light tongue

I get a lot more wiggle room on weight adjustments with this truck, compared to the old one, lol.

With the old truck, if I didn't have water in the trailer, I'd have to run the bars 2 links looser than when I didn't have the ATV in the back.

Yeah, having the bikes in the back is going change this thing up ins a big way...It'll be interesting to see how much I have to re-arrange my setup for them. Maybe I'll just mount an Onan 5500 on the A-frame ;)

I've got a 4000W built in... They're not super heavy, lol. Maintenance will definitely be easier mounted on the a-frame, lol.
