You should have waited. Hustler Raptor is going to sold at Lowes and Home Depot here soon.

Hustler Mowers Being Sold at Lowes and Home Depot

The Raptor is an entry-level residential mower - Exactly what I wasn't looking for.

True. Im sure they are going to sell other models down road if you just wait it out. You have come bought Craftsman hydrostatic 54in mower for $800 while your waiting.

I doubt HD or Lowe's ever sells the X-One and buying an $800 mower to wait out a higher price doesn't make a ton of sense.

Dave, I think he wanted to buy a higher quality piece of equipment than what you are talking about in your posts. The stuff sold through Lowes, HD are built for entry level pricing. The higher quality stuff is sold though regular dealers. I know John Deere is this way. The equipment sold at the dealership is built to a higher quality/standard. Frames are heavier. Welded better. Better hydraulic systems throughout. Better engines.

I've got 3 JD's that were purchased 30 years ago, 317 and 2- 420's. They'll still be running in another 30 years. That Craftsman POS wouldn't last long working around my place

But then you would have had multiple mowers. Quantity > quality

my parents got a Hustler a few years ago, first mod was to put on the spring'd front wheels, rides sooo much better as it can take bumps better. what engine did you get with it? we got the Kawasaki 21hp, more than enought power to get over any hills while mowing.

just be carful, it can do wheelies :D

24HP Kawasaki. It doesn't have the flex forks but I am currently looking around for the best deal on them. $240 ain't bad for a cushy ride.

That is a simple monthly payment. :)

I can mow our 1.9 acres in 50 minutes. It use to take me almost 2hrs when we had the 1972, 60" cub cadet tractor mower. All that back and forth to turn was a major pain and time waster.

Home ownership is soooo over-rated.

I am sick of it...I am ready for a townhouse...if only you could get one with a 3+car garage. Dammit!
