Well, I understand bud, it's difficult to see the big picture when you have such a small screen.

According to these two magazines (that I happen to subscribe to) the Raptor is a huge success. Far more than a couple of skid plates and a Z71 sticker... this truck actually brings the goods. Other than a "rough ride" (really? WTF?) these guys have nothing but good to spew...

GM and Dodge are going to be doing some real catch up... and I'm a GM truck guy!

They need to be anyway. Whether they will or not, I guess we'll see.

I sure hope so.

It'd be nice to see a little truck war start up!

While I agree with Jim's statement about GM and Dodge playing catch-up in regard to the Raptor. Could you please explain what you mean by "They need to be anyway"? Aside from the Raptor, how is GM and Dodge needing to play catch-up to Ford?

I was talking Raptor-specific as well.

He said they are going to be doing some catch up, I said the need to be. My point was that they need to develop something cool like this too. We've seen the Baja concept and all, but I haven't seen anything saying it's actually going to be a production vehicle, and while the Power Wagon is a very cool machine, it is very dissimilar to the Raptor in its intended purpose.

It was more of a hopeful statement.

Ok, gotcha. The way you worded it was a bit confusing.

There was no cut on anybody in my post. My point was that this just inspires the others to continue developing better and better products. It's what keep them competitive. GM has sold the Z71 package for years but it is not much more than badging and a couple of skid plates. Ford just moved the bar a little bit. GM will respond for sure and we will win! I like that!

WOO HOO!

The Raptor is a cool truck, but it's impractical for 99% of people out there.
And with 1200 being produced for 2010, that's EXACTLY how Ford planned it.
