According to these two magazines (that I happen to subscribe to) the Raptor is a huge success. Far more than a couple of skid plates and a Z71 sticker... this truck actually brings the goods. Other than a "rough ride" (really? WTF?) these guys have nothing but good to spew...

GM and Dodge are going to be doing some real catch up... and I'm a GM truck guy!

They need to be anyway. Whether they will or not, I guess we'll see.

I sure hope so.

It'd be nice to see a little truck war start up!

While I agree with Jim's statement about GM and Dodge playing catch-up in regard to the Raptor. Could you please explain what you mean by "They need to be anyway"? Aside from the Raptor, how is GM and Dodge needing to play catch-up to Ford?

I was talking Raptor-specific as well.

He said they are going to be doing some catch up, I said the need to be. My point was that they need to develop something cool like this too. We've seen the Baja concept and all, but I haven't seen anything saying it's actually going to be a production vehicle, and while the Power Wagon is a very cool machine, it is very dissimilar to the Raptor in its intended purpose.

It was more of a hopeful statement.

Raptor is a gimmick truck. It's main goal is to get people into the dealership to look at them. And when they do most of the potential buyers end up settling for a regular f-150 or a taurus or whatever else.
Got to remember GM stole a lot of thunder from ford with the camaro and zr1 releases.

As long as the "American auto industries" builds something to stimulate this economy and keep Americans working I'm fine with it, Whether it's a Ford, GM or Chrysler.
Well,......... I think Chrysler is now owned by a foreign country, is it? And I heard the Chinese bought Hummer. :(

Ok, gotcha. The way you worded it was a bit confusing.

I think it's a cool truck (without the stickers on the bed). Way more off-road potential than I'll ever need though. I'm awaiting reviews with the 6.2 once Ford get's around to throwing it in there, they really need something over the 5.4, especially with tires this big and all the extra weight from the off-road stuff.

The 6.2 is coming mid-MY2010.
