Well, my dad saw this truck on his way over to Oshkosh, WI a week ago and called me to tell me about it. I stopped by to look at it on Thursday on my way over there. I copied all the information down and called the guy like 6 times on Saturday. He finally returned my call 45 minutes before we left Oshkosh. So I took it for a test ride. Got back and bought it. My motorcycle fit perfectly in the bed (kitty-corner though).

Quick Specs (for now; gonna post all the RPO codes shortly)
1997 Chevy S10
ECRB
4.3L V6
5spd
171,500 miles

asking price: $2,000obo
bought: $1,650 (offered $1,600 but guess he needed the extra $50; was expecting a $1,800 counter)

PICS

If I stuck this in the wrong place, let me know and then move it. Thanks!

I wish .

It will be my DD - winter beater and I'll use it in the summer too.

Plans (nothing extreme):
01) DISABLE DRL's - I really hate them - anyone know how on this truck?
1) Add a tach - either finding a factory cluster with one (I hope) or adding a separate one (which I don't want to do)
2) Add a factory CD player (I want to keep everything cheap and looking stock)
3) Add vent visors (so it doesn't roast sitting outside)
4) Find a POSI rear end (so I'm not a "one tire fire" in the snow)
5) Clean up the lights (gonna try those 3M kits for removing haze)
6) Fix the rust spots (whenever I have time; probably next summer)
7) Possible BB tune in the very distant future

Dreams:
98+ grill/light swap
shorty headers
exhaust

I'm not so sure I like how low it sits. I want to try to keep it out of the salt. My old '94 sat higher so I'm gonna see what is so different about the suspension.

This will be a stock vehicle. Only maintenance will be done to keep it on the road and not fall apart on me.

getting rid of the old truck???
NEVER!!!!
My K1500 will not be driven in the winter (hopefully).
It will get all the fun mods and stuff.

I think this has a metric rear end. I have no idea. It does have a 10-bolt cover though.
