Good snag. Keep it stock and it'll run forever.

Nice find. Sounds like a good list of stuff you have planned. Keep us updated.

Keep a good eye on the oil and coolant. Those 4.3 v6's are notorious for the intake gaskets leaking, so much so that GM came out with a redesigned gasket from what I hear. So if you get coolant in the oil, or coolant starts disappearing, thats a bad sign.

I'll keep an eye an it. The temp gauge (I know they aren't very accurate) doesn't go past the big mark between 110 and 180, but the guy said that it has always been that way (he had it for 4 years and was the 2nd owner).

The bottom of the engine is caked in oil....so....something is leaking. I don't know how fast, how bad, or what yet, but I'll soon find out. I think I'll have to put in a new rear seal on the trans (tail is wet too), but that should be really easy and only cost $10.

This won't be a fast moving project by any means. I'm thinking the instrument cluster w/ tach is going to be very hard to find along with the CD player.

Clancy, I think it is a 7.5" ring gear.

Should be a nice, subtle, and reliable vehicle whenever my short list gets done.
