Did you have it checked out for the Castech issue? Did you go ahead and buy the extended warranty?

Put some CHROMED OUT 24 INCH RIMZ.. STICK ON FENDER VENTS... and CHROME TAIL LIGHT COVERS.

BALLIN YO.

:jester:

Nice lookin hoe sir.

I will get on that...but from what I have heard Tahoes are so powerful that they could blow the Fender Vents right off, and spin the tires right out of the beads on the 24s, and the chrome tail light covers would spontaneously combust...

no and no, :ohnoes::fingersx::fingersx:
The small percentage of early Castech head issues have likely all been addressed by now by previous owners. I doubt you have anything to ever be concerned over there.

Enjoy it! :tmc:

I'd agree, most of them have been addressed, but occasionally it still crops up. At work we had one truck and 'burb, both 04s, about 6 or 8 months ago, maybe more, both tested positive for coolant in oil . Further inspection revealed cracked castech heads. Mileage on one unit was about 123k. The other was around 161k. Truck showed the classic sign of leak. The 'burb was cracked in another area. A little further digging, I found in the records that the 'burb had overheated badly, then the problem appeared. I'd say that's what caused the leak, not the traditional casting defect. One of my personal trucks has the castech heads with no problems to date.

This originally this came up in his thread about extended warranty purchase, which is why I wondered what he decided to do about a EW

Nice 'hoe BTW. :thumbs:
