I just get that classic car dealer feeling and they're trying to press me into a deposit because supposedly they have an out of state cash client that wants it but they would rather sell local.
Yeah sounds shady.
About the only thing a dealership should mention about a deposit is just a gentle reminder that without it, someone else can buy it before you sign the papers... Other than that.... Nada

I really like this one. I would certainly own it. BUT, I'm not loving the dealer and that very well may mix this deal.

Hiley (Subaru) is who I was trying to use to fix the Outback I had. I eventually got tired of dealing with them and Subaru Corporate and get rid of the vehicle. :dunno:

All of their preowned go through Hiley Sub.

I ended up dropping it off this morning and told them that if they have a cash buyer sell it. If it's still there in a couple weeks I'll check back.

What stopped me from even dealing was this...

On the back window one of the connections to the rear defroster was snapped off. I said of course I would want that fixed before and here's the response "I'll just tell you we can try to fix it, but it won't stay. Just want to be honest with you"

When buying a $60,000 vehicle that's not the answer I want. I want "if we have to replace the window, we'll make sure it's fixed"

Ok, so I had an awakening this weekend. My daughters are both in competition dance. We had a competition Saturday that my parents came to. Mid way through the day one daughter was done and the other had two more dances to go, so I went to take the family home that was done. Well, I didn't have enough seating. I couldn't take Emma with me.

This is a situation I have been telling myself wouldn't come up that much, but I was fooling myself. I have yet another kid on the way in June. This is going to come up a lot.

Long and short. My desire to have a new 2500 oil burner was clouding my judgment.

Sooooo, here's the new plan. I'm going to keep my paid for truck (and install 4.10 gears if needed) and I'm looking at a 15-17 Yukon Denali.

It will be enough to pull my trailer with equalizer hitch around for short trips and the silverado will make the longer ones and for times I need a bed.

The 2500 diesel will have to wait a few years.

Denali's are nice looking suvs. I am looking at those too. I still want an SUV but I've been looking at Chevy trucks too.

I am getting kind of annoyed with Ford now.

That sounds like some of the same shit I was dealing with with the "Service Manager" at Hiley Subaru on a warrantied car. fWONk 'em! Find a different dealer.
