Yep, with a little time and a ton of $$$$ you can make anything go fast!

What is cool is that it seems very streetable and doesn't at all give away as to how much performance it really has.

Seems that you are insinuating that the GTR isn't fast stock...Those things are scray fast stock and one of the fastest cars there is.

And a few more competitors the next year...and a subaru

No, I agree they are wicked fast stock. I'm sure like anything else, if you put the time and money into it, then you can go faster. Just search the net for the same thing, but in a Mustang, or Subaru WRX STi, Honda NSX and we all know about the Lingenfelter, LMR and Callaway Vettes.

You can see that they devoted a ton of time and money into that car and it shows. :)

It takes considerably more power, tuning, and effort to beat a GTR than appears on paper. The GTR represents all that is sports car 2.0; it fixes bad driving, it shifts faster than an automatic, never falls out of boost, and has cat on carpet grip.

The mere fact that they can get a 3500+ lb. car to maintain tire grip around the Ring just shows how well refined the car is. Nissan spent over 5 years developing the GTR, and felt it was so special that they dropped the "Skyline" name, a name that defined the GT-R since it's inception in 1969. It would be like Chevrolet saying, "This car is so fucking awesome, Corvette just isn't good enough."

Look at the power to weight ratio of the ZR1, and yet, it's outlapped by the GTR on a course that lends well to the ZR1. It's the standard of what is to come.
