Wife's Burb Stuck In Park

I was able to get it out of Park so she could get home(went to pick up grandaughter @ school).For now she'll have to leave it in neutral & use the E-brake when parking.
Now my question is where is the f'n module that controls the shifter release thingy?...my Haynes manual doesn't show me squat

how you get it out of park? Crawl under and move the selector itself?

The f'n module has got to be in the steering column doesn't it? That's where the "click" noise comes from on mine when you push the brake.

My brothers 95 burban use to do the same damn thing sometimes. I wish I could tell you how to fix it, he never got it fixed before it got stolen.

She f'd with it for a little while then called me...I got in,turned the key on,but not start,stepped on the brake,pulled on the gearshift and it came out of Park I told her it didn't like women....she didn't like that

I'll check into that Thursday(next day off).My old Burb hasn't done anything like this so I guess I'm lucky

Check the BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH

Does it send a signal to a release of some kind?

The linkage is on the right side of the column, just under and behind the ignition switch. I had to move it on mine when I changed my multi-function switch a couple weeks ago.

I may still have the diagrams in the garage...

Found this on 2carpros.com,now I have something to look for.I just remembered Clancy mentioned the Shift Interlock Circuit before.Looks like I'll be tearing the steering column apart
