I don't want to have to run an intercooler

What's your objection to an intercooler?

This system wasn't originally designed to be run with one. I need to contact whipple to see exactly how much boost these units can safely push out. It sits right on the intake manifold, so I would have to do a pre-s/c intercooler in the air intake, and that's just more clutter and hassle that I would rather do without. I think I will be plenty happy with the power it puts out when I get this thing done. Rebuilt the way I want, which will be a LONG ways down the road. I am a starving college student, after all.

Heck, I'm happy with it now.....a little too happy. I want to drive it all the time, but can't afford to do so. :uhoh:

Oh god I have questions. Pm inbound. Too bad this thread has been dead for four years. Hope he's still alive somewhere.

Yup, I'm still around. I don't log on to the forums as much as I used to. I've been working about 45-50 hours a week for a couple years now.

The truck is great. Looks a little different, a lot better in my opinion. I'll post some pics. I have an Esky roof rack and some OEM Tahoe Limited side skirts to paint and put on. I think it should look really good with those.

The trans stopped grabbing 3rd a couple years ago. I drove it around locked in 2nd to get me to my work that was 2 miles away. That sucked. Did that for a few months, and then had a 4L80e swapped in. I had to have a new tune made for the trans, and some wires were re-pinned at the PCM and the trans, but now it's wired like it would have been stock, and it runs great. Starting to price out an engine rebuild (just because, don't need it right now), with some upgrades to the rotating assembly and heads.

I also picked up an Edelbrock MPFI setup off CL for about $100 (which was a steal! You can't even find these things anymore!). I'm hoping that will deliver enough fuel for all my needs and higher boost.

Most recent pic. Painted diesel bumper with fog lights. New front lighting. I also have a painted W/T bumper out back, so there's no more chrome. Like I said, Esky roof rack and Tahoe Limited side skirts are up next. I have a few more ideas after that, but the exterior is almost done.

I've thought about changing the wheels at times. Maybe some chrome coys or something. Same style, just not sure about the black anymore. We'll see. I'll have to photoshop it.

Makes me feel like I have no life. I work 75-90/week. Been averaging 70 recently.

Glad to hear you and the Yukon are still alive and kicking. And still together to boot. Everyone on the 400 forum (the OGs and regulars seems to have moved on from these trucks to something newer. Some with much regret. Others without shame. Some still drop by. I'm still a regular there but I've widened my forum list to include the car and seadoo.
