I park where I can roll and start the danger ranger. My starter is slowly dying and I am a cheap bastard.

 I used to have a car that had some jacked-up battery cables. Sometimes they connected good and kept the battery charged. Sometimes, they didn't...

I almost always backed into parking spaces, "just in case" I needed to get it jumped-off!

That b*tch decided to lose contact with the battery one day while driving down the road.. Passing an 18 wheeler and it just died. I decided the car had it in for me, so I traded it off ASAP, after that.

(Nevermind the fact that probably all it REALLY needed was new cables.. I wanted it gone anyway.)

Parking becomes a fun challenge when your reverse is out. My 3rd car, a 1972 Buick Skylark had no reverse when I bought it and since I was only 17, I needed to wait a few weeks after getting the car (traded my "vette" for it with a buddy who was going off to college). I had to make sure to find "drive-thru" parking spots and had to park in the street or push it out of my driveway.

Yeah, something like that... Let's see... I bought it, the ex-wife took it when we split, then I got it back, then sold it, re-bought it, and then (FINALLY) traded it off.. I thought I never was going to get rid of that thing "for good."

I had the transmission go out in my cutlass, but just the reverse went out, so I know EXACTLY what you mean. worst day ever........I was going thru a Drive Thru (in the rain), then decided I would leave since the line was so long. I drove around the builing and....DEAD END, the only way out was the actual drive thru lane. So I had to get out in the rain, with my window rolled down so I could reach in to steer while I was pushing my car in the rain. I was pissed:fume:.
I ended up driving the car for almost 6 months with no reverse though. I learned how to park so I could leave by driving forward, and I always parked sideways at work, so I could leave by driving forward. It was a gravel parking lot that only employees parked in, so it wasnt a big deal. Those were the days..........
