Re: Wheels - Time for some changes - UPDATE: Fuels it is! ?

Is it just my eyes or does the Black Magic have a hint of grey to it (at least the Camaro wheel)? Might offset the wheel a bit from the rest of the truck.

I'm afraid the smooth flat textures will show some orange peel. I'll only get one shot at this.

How about fine black texture? It would add yet another dimension it's flat and has a very fine texture and might look great with the LineX.

Maybe I will have my AEs powder coated, instead of painting them. I am intrigued.

:lurk:

White spokes and cap, FTW.
DO IT.

It might, or it might just be the lighting in the pic.

I am serious. Silver/grey, maybe even the step bars and grille

The fine black texture looks good brand new but I question how it would hold up long term. I know don't go off road or anything but those could be a bitch to keep looking new. How would you polish a textured wheel like that? Stuff is bound to get caught in the crevices (for lack of a better word), don't you think?

I think it was the outdoor photo, because it really is black, not grey.

Yeah it was just the Camaro pic that I saw the hint of grey. It is definitely a true black.

True, the brake dust could get caught in the texture, def can't polish them up with a cloth. But it also is easier to touch up should you get a chip and/or scratch. The smooth flat black will show very imperfection.

Plus the flat black will show fine scratches as I'm sure you are well aware of with your paint not to mention rock chips. Would the smooth flat black be hard to touch up/blend if needed?

Pros and cons to both.
