I'm only putting together a wheel thread because I have decided to go with a wheel that has some machined spokes. I still would like a black lip however. No I won't add anymore wheels to this thread, these are it.

After seeing these really cool, new forged Fuel wheels that are due out soon, I've decided some machined aluminum on my truck might set it off.

I plan on having my s/s exhaust polished, as well as the new s/s skidplate. So, I felt some polished sections on the wheels would look good and pull the whole truck together.

I really like these forged Fuels but I'm pretty sure the price on these will be way out of my price range, or else I might consider them.

I surprisingly found the new Fuel Kranks in a machined finish.

My plan would be to have the outer lip (and possibly the inner lip too) either painted and clearcoated in a black gloss, or black gloss powdercoated.

Or if you think I've lost my mind :) I could always black out the machined sections of the regular black Krank, I don't like the bits of machined sections on these wheels, they look too busy making those sections stand out too much then that's all you see, especially from a distance. I've seen them on a truck and I don't like them as is, they look odd.

Blacked out.

I'm really liking the machined Kranks with a black lip. I want the wheel to look different, unlike any others out there.

:dunno:

Don't ban me Tobias. :D

Any shots of them in 6-lug? These all look like 8-lug wheels. Also, what size are you going with?

Re: Wheels - Time for some changes

Hmm..good point. no, they're all really new, not much out there for pics. The forged wheels might only come in an 8 lug, haven't found any info on them anywhere. I really used them as inspiration for what I think my next wheels should look like.

As far as the Kranks, not sure the 6 lug and 8 lug would look any different although some of the BMF and Fuels wheels do change somewhat between the 6 and 8 lug.

I would do a 20x9 or 20x10 rim. I want at least a 3" lip on them, so I would probably go with the -12 offset at the very least, I have those massive fender flares so I can afford them sticking out a bit more than what I have now.

This. I like the wheel design but the center cap is awful.

Looks like the humongous cap is standard on other lug patterns. See below.

Also, you said polished but I assume you meant machined since all of the ones you are showing are machined, right?

Yes, machined. I may be able to get the polisher to give the skidplate and exhaust a machined look so that they're not too reflective.

Yes the cap is large, but I like the fact that the lugs are covered. Every set of lug nuts I have bought have become damaged from just screwing them on just once.

That jeep is a 5 lug right? Cause it still has the same number of spokes (8) as what you thought was the 8 lug.

I believe so.

Yeah, I hate when spokes vary with lug count.

Agreed. On some of the BMFs, the 8 lugs are real nice, aggressive looking, then the same wheel in a 6 lug less spokes = less appealing.

So you and Jim are on board with my idea of machines spokes on the wheel on my truck, offsetting the machined bits on the coilovers, rear resi shocks, the skidplate and exhaust?

I may have to consider going back to the original finish I had on the springs, that chrome powdercoat with the clearcoat which gave them a polished/machined look instead of the silver.
