I'm glad we had this talk..
Good luck!
Good luck!

I'm not buying the grill anytime soon, that is just the next thing on the list when I can afford it. I know that I am trying to save money, that's why I said "next thing" doesn't mean anytime soon.

Yes, I have the money put back. But I am not buying right now because of the financial situation. I am waiting till things get better for both of us. I'm not stupid like you guys are making me out to be. Sorry I ever brought anything up.I'm not buying the grill anytime soon, that is just the next thing on the list when I can afford it. You said........
So next thing.....Saleen Grill! I have had the money put back for awhile for the grill, just haven't bought it yet,
1) they didn't have any in stock,
2) didn't want to spend the money on it if I was going to sell the truck.
I'm done...![]()

I understand what you are saying. I just think everyone was quick to judge my decision. I AM NOT buying the new grill anytime soon. Maybe it sounded like I was from the post, but I am NOT. This is my first truck, so it was hard to say "Sure I'll sell it." My wife and I have some decent amount of money coming our way soon, that I didn't know about before I said I would sell it. I obviously don't tell everyone on TMC my full life story or my full situation, so there is no need to be so quick to judge me. I get the fact you all thought I was going to not sell the truck and sink more money into mods. THAT IS NOT HAPPENING in the near future! I actually think we are going to be able to pay the truck or her Jeep off with some of the money we will be receiving and that will help us tremendously.Yes, I have the money put back. I'm not sure anyone thinks YOU are stupid.. But, flip-flopping from "gas could hit $5 / gallon at some point in the future, I need to get rid of my truck while it's still worth something" to "ehhh, I'll keep the truck AND I'll spend mod money on it.. even though things are tight..".. That doesn't seem like a real "smart" thing to do. But, it's your life, your truck, your money. Good luck!![]()

I think everyone is just looking out for you. Sounds like you've got goals and you're not blowing too much $$$ until you have a little more set aside. Nothing wrong with that.
Some of us have just seen too many people do foolish things with money. Everyone has a friend with "no money." That same friend who drives a fancy new car, designer clothes, satellite TV, etc. . . . We just don't want you to be "that guy"![]()
don't worry, I'm not that guy nor do I want to be.

It is not a tax refund. You asked folks what they thought you should do. They gave their advice and you threw it out the window. Don't be surprised when folks don't agree with your decision to ignore their advice.
I will add one thing, though... If that big chunk of money that's coming your way is a tax refund and if that's enough to pay off your vehicles, you need to SERIOUSLY look at your withholding amounts.. That's a crazy amount of your money that would be coming back your way, which could've been in your pockets this whole time and prevented the whole "what to do?" question to begin with..

When my wife's father passed away around 12 years ago or so, he set aside some farm land for us when she got married. We are going to be selling the land to her uncle who already farms it anyways. We have no use for the land and we can't cash rent it (it's in the legal terms.)
