And your idea was almost good until that sentence right there. So sell the truck, downgrade to affordable point A to B driver, save the money for repairs that may come around and general savings.
Don't buy the bike. Even if you buy it out right, one "small" wreck, and you'll be paying out the ass in repairs. A friends just spend like $2500 on repairs, all he did was lay down through a turn. A "small" wreck, that he walked away from. If you're thinking about a sport bike, insurance will get ridiculously stupid real quick. Buying a bike for the reason of, to save gas money, is not a good one. If thats the real purpose, buy a scooter! Depending on state laws, no insurance needed, very cheap, very gas efficient, very affordable, very much what you're looking for.
