What did you do to your truck today?

Turned it into an SLT for all practical purposes. :dodge:

Then I drove it home in the snow. Interstate was closed halfway home, so I had to get off on the first exit I could (finally after 30+ minutes) and take back roads home. My hour commute took 2 1/2 hours.......fun!

So how did the KM2s do in the snow? Haven't had mine in the snow yet...

The KM2's do really well in the snow, I have been surprised. We had some snow last year, and they did well, but they were also brand new. I have about 20k miles on them now, and they are still doing very well. They don't have much (any) siping, so they will slide a little when it's ice, but as long as there is a little snow on the ice they do really well. I would still highly recommend them!

Thanks for the info,I'll try to avoid the ice.Hopefully I can get into some snow and have some fun soon.I watched a video on YT where a guy has his own siping tool and used it on his tires,lotta work but it was worh it.

Did the DRL to signal/parking light mod. Much better

Swapped the DRL socket/light for a parking light/turn signal socket.

Maybe I am missing something here. How does changing the socket matter? Does it just bring the intensity down by using the other element?

Yes. I actually bought two new 3157 signal sockets, and fit them into the DRL housings.

Removed the DRL fuse and taped up the DRL socket, zip tied it out of the way.

So now you have 4 front signal lights?

I'd like to do this on my ZR2, but I don't know how you'd drill a hole and get it to have the right tabs for the socket to fit in (since there's only 1 bulb in it).

Needs some fine tuning and some stain but other than that it should be great for some winter camping.

Nice! Those side areas might work good for putting sand in for the winter (something I've been wanting to do anyways). This could be a great solution for my ZR2. Plywood only fits above the wheel wells.



Took some glass bottles and tin cans to the recycling area. Put it in the un-insulated garage to get the rest of the snow/ice off it. It actually worked! I didn't think it was going to be warm enough in there, but it was just barely!

Get the marker light assembly with fog lights in them, then put a 3157 socket/bulb in it... The factory fogs in there are useless anyway
