Went to 2 junkyards. I had been to both and knew they had what I wanted. I went to both to get steering wheels/clock springs (SIR coil) for both trucks that have steering wheel mounted radio controls. Both trucks will eventually get them, but the ZR2 will get it first because it is all apart anyways and it has a factory radio so the interfacing will be a breeze...hopefully.
In addition, I cut out a piece of a headliner from a Blazer that had an overhead console to use as a template for cutting mine (have to cut quite a bit to clearance for the console). Also got a new steering column cover set for the ZR2. Had to be picky because it is a 5spd and I couldn't get one from an auto with column shift so I found a Bravada with a floor shift.
I found a Blazer ZR2 in the one yard too so I'm debating going back for the fender flares and the ECM. The ECM is a 0411 and I'd like to use in it the Z71 someday, but I don't know if it will be compatible. Most guys I've read from say to get it from a Chevy Express (because it used the L31 motor), but I'd be reloading a tune file onto the ECM anyways.
Anyways, a very long and productive day finding parts!
