Took wifey's Burb to a dirt road to test the G80 & the 4x4 switch(hasn't been used in a while). Both worked great, also found out how to put the T/C in neutral(just in case it needs to be towed some day).

Backed up a hill sideways where only the left rear had grip...the right spun for a sec. or two then locked in.... My Burb won't do that :(

Is your G80 getting tired? :(

Looks like it is.I've seen where they are rebuildable,it appears to me the ones for 3/4 & one tons are a little different from 1/2 tons.A friend and I are going to our local Pick-A-Part soon and maybe take one apart.

Does the G80 use a CLUTCH PACK????

Yes! But what I've seen not as many on the heavier versions as the 1/2 tons and they are metal not fiber.I should add this is for a 10 1/2 ring gear

I have a pic...

My thought was.. it may just be the governor not working... or the clutch plates could be worn.
It may not be too serious...:dunno:

Number 17 in that pic....
I have heard of it going bad/sticking... and not letting the clutch packs engage when needed.
That don't happen often... but it can.
