Got the drop spindles and coil spring relocators put on. Now the toe is so bad that the tires chirp when moving it out of the garage. Time to adjust toe.:(

Tried to do some work on it... but every damn thing went wrong. :fume:

I need to replace my leaking hydroboost on it, but I have to drop the column and remove the newly installed alarm module to even see the damn nuts on the inside of the firewall.

So then I figured I'd leave that for tomorrow and just replace the wiper module that's been getting flakey, but could not get the damn plug out of the old one. I'm gonna have to park somewhere level and climb under the hood to get it loose. I didn't have a problem with the one in my S10 (same module as the C/K series) and it had 172k on it at the time. I'm just glad the C/K has a lot more room to work in the engine bay, but I can't quite sit in there like I can on a friends '73 with a 454 :(.

So then I figured I'd just replace the two headlights (replacing stock bulbs with brighter ones) and found out that there's not enough room between the bulbs and the grille to get my screwdriver in there to remove the screws, so I have to pull the grille itself to change the fWONKing bulbs. Which front end do you have? (you don't have the pics in your Garage any more) When you take off the grill, make sure you release all 3 plastic clips on the bottom of the grill (I've broken 2 of them now  ).

Stuff in orange.

Filled the S10 up on Thursday. Got 19.9mpg :(. I really hope it doesn't get any worse :uhoh:. All I want is 20+mpg and I'm happy.

My new IAC for the S10 came yesterday, but I can't put it in until tomorrow since I'm hunting right now. If that doesn't fix the high idle, I guess I'll have to buy a new TPS which is like $40, but I have $20 in AutoZone rewards to use :D.

Test-fit the Silverado in my grandma's garage. It fits length wise with about 8-10 inches to spare. I'm planning on parking it the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Put $25.00 in gas in it, went check out the Champion generator @ tractor supply, and went to/from the cash party at a local dept. and back home now.

The problem with the wiper module was the slope on my driveway made it hard to reach. Parked it on the semi-level gravel drive today and got it done in 20 minutes. Turned out one of the contact wipers wasn't adjusted properly, and there was a ton of grease all over everything, so I cleaned it up, regreased the worm gear and put in the new board. Put a silicone seal along the top and sides of the cover, leaving the bottom without the seal so any moisture that manages to get in can still drain out. I also fixed the contact on the old board and will keep it for a spare.

I have the plastic grille (pics are back in the garage again from when I painted it) and I've had it off before, so I know about the clips. But thanks for the heads up. :)

I keep an old broken CB antenna in the garage just for the specific purpose of reaching those clips and unlatching them.

Managed to replace both headlights today without taking off the grille. I did lose 4 of the screws down inside the bumper though. Fortunately, I have spares in the shop. The new sealed beams made a world of difference. Before, with the stock Wagner halogen bulbs they were dim and narrow. With the Sylvania XtraVision bulbs the pattern is much wider and brighter, without being blinding to oncoming traffic.

On the bad news side... I found out I have a pretty serious oil leak that I need to locate and fix tomorrow. I'd noticed oil spots on the rear doors over the last week, but attributed them to the leaking brake booster, so I wasn't too worried. Today, after doing the wiper board and the headlights I checked all the fluids and was shocked to see not a drop of oil on the dipstick. 3 1/2 quarts of 15w-40 Rotella later it's back up to the full mark. I'll have to crawl underneath tomorrow and see if I can find where it's leaking from. Hopefully it'll be something simple, like a leaking filter or drain plug, and not leaking seals on the turbo or elsewhere.

Bernie,

If all that is that bad then do wanna come help swap the front bumper on my truck after I get the rest of the parts from the accident. Looks like I need to pack lunch for it. Never thought those GM yo yo's would think of a way to use 2 bumper brackets on each side. Whatever happened to one bracket on each side with 2-3 bolts/nuts to hold the bumper on each side?
