Never tried.
Now on the other hand, I have changed manya fuel filter on my JD mower... especially when I put some of that crappy ethanol a couple of years ago...
I thought they'd made that a non-serviceable part now
And the ethanol was just cleaning your mower from years of crappy dino-gas

Just put a new battery in it. I have to take it down to a buddies garage this afternoon and have him work on the fuel lines and filter. I can't get that damn thing off lying on my back.
I have a question...
Why do almost everyone change fuel filters so often?
In my 50 years of driving I can only recall a couple of times that I actually "NEEDED" to change a fuel filter because it was stopped up.
I did change the one on my '99 truck...once at 100,000 miles and again at 250,000 miles.
Nothing was wrong with it...I just changed it because I didn't have anything better to do right then..
My current truck has 91,000 on it and I have never changed it.
Maybe I should change them more often...

Seriously though, just because a filter isn't completely plugged doesn't mean that it's good. It can be partially clogged, resulting in lower fuel pressure and volume at the engine, and more stress on the pump. Also, a lot of filters use paper elements that will absorb any water that gets into the fuel system (usually from condensation in your tank when the weather cools off - not from water in underground storage tanks, which have all sorts of alarms and systems to prevent that now). If a paper filter gets waterlogged it might seem "clean" but it's going to seriously restrict fuel flow.
Fuel filters are usually pretty cheap to replace, but even changing one of the more expensive ones on a regular basis is probably preferable to being stuck on the side of the road in the middle of the night.

Test fitted a cover on the Silverado. It fits fine, but definitely isn't an outdoor cover by any means.
Aired up the front tires on the S10. While I was at it, checked the PS fluid and oil levels. I need to fill the trans up this weekend.

put gas in it for the 1st time in 3 weeks... I love having a company truck for sure... I was somewhere around 60 - 90 bucks a week, now its somewhere around that a month!
