Got the tires rotated and balanced yesterday and, of course, the other side of the wheels weren't painted white like the side that had been showing. They were still gray primer. So, seeing as I had a $10 credit at the local hardware store for my birthday, and seeing that the weather was absolutely perfect for painting (mid 80's 75% humidity, only 20% chance of rain) I figured I'd just run down to the store, pick up a quart of gloss white RustOLeum, and paint the wheels.
Of course, things like this never go quite the way you plan...
First I couldn't find the damn $10 credit coupon. The wife and I looked everywhere we could think of, but never found it. (It showed up sitting on top of my computer in the office as soon as I got home)
Then, after I got setup to paint I realized the 30 degree slope on the driveway meant the full quart of paint wasn't going to work too well, it'd just spilled over the edge of the can, so I had to clear away the tools and cardboard I'd laid out and move the truck to the gravel driveway that's a bit less sloped.
Got the wheels clean, wire brushed them to give a good surface for the paint to stick to and started painting. Uh-oh... gonna need at least two coats because the gray is showing through in streaks.
An hour later all four wheels were done with the first coat and it didn't look too bad. Still needed another coat but it was looking good.
Then it started raining...

Not yet. I have 4 spare rims with tires that need burning compliments of "chad7n7". And i just bought 4 new tires but only swaped out the back.

As soon as I got back in the house and comfortable the rain stopped and the sun came back. Waited a little while then went out and checked and the paint was perfectly dry so I got out the brush and can again and gave them a second coat. Also painted the back bumper.
