funny guys!!!

so went to work, jumped the truck cause I killed it when trying to start and then cranking it over to get the brakes pumped and steering to work while I was coasting down the hill at 60.

The damn thing started... so I hauled ass to the shop doing the work and dropped it off.

Getting my work truck back from the shop today......50k miles and both cats are plugged! :wtf:

I think Ford has some issues with reliability in HD trucks that are actually used for HD work. :fume:

Your truck is gas or D2?

I think idling causes a lot of issues. A true HD truck/work doesn't have cat issues. Tranny, heads and drivetrain yes. But emissions are normally the Achilles heel of HD trucks that sit and don't stretch their legs enough.

But I dont know the history of your truck or issues for you to say ford has an issue. To be honest.

It's an F-350 V10 gas. It shouldn't have any issues, it doesn't sit idling. It is either running 80 down the highway (with or without a trailer) or 4 wheeling into places most people wouldn't take a Jeep.

The truck has been fairly reliable, but has had some issues for it's age/miles. It has had some electrical issues (start it up and all the idiot lights on the dash come on and I have no functions which a BCM would control-lights, radio, a/c, etc.). This can only be "cured" (according to two separate dealerships) by disconnecting the battery and letting it sit a while. They attribute this to a "glitch in the computer" and say they don't have a better fix. It grenaded a transfer case at 35.5k miles-broke a gear and ran pieces through the rest. It has had clutch/shifting issues (6 speed manual) since new, which were diagnosed as "normal". While repairing the transfer case, they finally figured out the flywheel was never torqued correctly and was missing a bolt, leading to uneven clutch engagement and wear. I know there are a few more things, but I can't think of them off the top of my head at the moment.
