Bought a $600 tool so I can work on getting the motor further put together ..
Nothing is ever cheap, is it. My timing chain cover on my truck is leaking. Not bad, but leaking, non the less. I keep putting it off, but I know I will have to change it, before to long. I will just rent a hormonic balancer tool, to press it back on with, or maybe I will make 1, IDK yet. I just question, how much I should put into this old Vortec 350, with almost 270,000 miles on it. I know that in time, I will need to replace the engine, or rebuild it. Also, when I had the transmission rebuilt a few years ago, I had them change the rear main seal, and it is leaking some again. The truck just runs so good, I guess I just need to fix the leaks. LOL, I will probably just keep putting it off, untill it gets worse, IDK. My truck is in near show room condition, and I rebuilt the rear end a few years ago, then less than 2 weeks later, I blew up the trans. So neither 1 has many miles on them. Lately I have been driving the truck on the week days, and taking the Corvette out, on the weekends. That's been working out pretty good. I do have a lot of custom touches on the truck. I can not see, letting it go. Not to mention, I bought the truck used in 2002, with 85,000 miles. These trucks are gaining in value. Mine is a 97, Silverado. When Silverado ment something.
