For years all I used was Makita. My dad picked up a DeWalt 12V back in 95 and since then DeWalt is all I buy and use.

For real heavy-duty drilling though, nothing beats my 1" splined Hilti hammer drill. Cost me over $500 and worth every penny.

For corded I would use Milwaukee, and cordless would dewalt or Hitachi...those are my preferred brands
