Buddy of mine has found marine gm crate engine that says it have variable valve timing, yet it doesn`t appear to have overhead cams, do they have a new-fangled variable disc on the cam gear? :dunno:

anybody heard of this?

i think maybe they are thinking AFM.... and just wrote VVT....:dunno:

Yup, the new 6.0 GenIV's in the 2500's and 3500's has VVT. Is uses a variable adjust wheel on the cam gear. Pretty cool stuff.

The Gen IV's in the 1500 trucks also has VVT along with AFM. The 6.2 have VVT also and the 2010 5.3's will include VVT

Yep, mine has VVT. And I am willing to bet VVT saves more fuel than AFM could ever dream of.

My mistake, you are correct. I thought he was asking about 6.0 engines using only VVT. Of which only the 2500 and 3500 series trucks do.
