Re: Valve cover leak and oil pressure switch problem

I would say keep it in this thread. That way it can be followed from start to finish with no thread jumping. Glad it all is well, hopefully it will be fine.

Sorry for taking so long to get the write up done. I ended up finding a leak.

Seemed to be a bolt that was left slightly loose when the dealer did the front cover. Had to pull the air intake and plenum off again but it only took 10min. So no biggie now.

Luckily I haven't changed the oil or added the coolant yet. Been using distilled water to flush all the old coolant out. I got it put back together again and going to test drive tomorrow if no leaks oil gets changed and my wife can start driving it again.

No worries, sometimes it just takes time to get all the bugs worked out.

Finally done!

no leaks on anything I worked on.

However I found a leak ob some kind of sensor on the back of the engine not sure. I cleaned the area and I'll keep an eye on it.

Got the oil changed and coolant filled. Next ill finish the write up.

It's been a few days over a month and the conventional oil has 4500 miles on it. NO LEAKS! So I put in an order for Amsoil this morning.

Coolant level is still good. The second oil leak on the back of the engine was just residual oil from the valve cover. Since I cleaned it off I have not seen any oil.

I started the write up but since we are getting ready for the arrival of my daughter in November I don't have the extra time. So I'll just post pics with a brief descriptions

The inside cam area looks really clean. That is great considering the long oil drain intervals you have been running.

What a mess under the hood of these new vehicles. Give me the simplicity of an old 60's era V8.

True true.

I took an up close picture of the cams also but I didn't add it in. I have so many since I was planning on a write up. These were the basic ones.
