I finally just quit fucking around.
So I take it you tried to get a 1/2 ton to do what ultimately a 3/4 ton does? Remind me, what did you have before?

I think what he was saying is that he tried getting by with a 3/4 ton truck with a 1/2 ton equivalent engine and ultimately discovered that the diesel was extremely more adequate when towing more than average.

I now have a '14 3500hd diesel and a '15 2500hd gas. While they both have 4.10 gearing and the gasser does local maintenance, it sucks on road trips towing or empty. I've taken the gas truck to Ohio to buy a car and to Pennsylvania to buy a boat, the towing experience would be more enjoyable if I had taken the diesel.

I get about 10-14 with the gas empty or pulling no more than 5000lbs. The diesel dump truck with LML dpf and def gets 10-16 empty or towing up to 20k lbs.

If I pull 8-10k in the gasser, my fuel mileage is down to 7-8.
That is why I didn't get a gas job HD truck. I got the same or better mileage than the 6.0.

With deletes, the LML is on par with my 1/2 ton, empty.

That's why I prefaced "the right tune", we are getting 21-22 on Denali HD daully's on road trips! CDT-Carolina Diesel trucks has like 3-4 members in '14 and "15 cc daully's reporting the same mileage. That's why my brother was so pissed in his '14 2500hd Kori Willis tuned truck, he was able to get 18-19 at best. He sold the truck because of that tune...

Aaaanny how...Andy, where are the pics of your new HD?
Yeah, I've been looking... (but then also doing more research on LBZ vs LMM vs LML. Do I void the warranty by doing all the deletes, or go with an older D'max, or...? many questions running through my mind)

A 2011 most likely has no warranty left. LMM is the better way for you to go... Then you don't have to worry about the CP4 grenading. If you're not modifying for power, the LMM is plenty. The LML has more power potential, once you iron out the quirks.

After 1.5 years of trying to decide, I just couldn't pass up the deal on a brand new black 2016 Sierra 2500HD 6.0L Z71.

I listed my truck online on Monday morning and by noon it was sold. I shot for the moon on the price and guy was willing to pay full price for the condition it was in.

I fly to St Louis on Monday to drive it home. I'm sad to be leaving the Red Truck Club :(
