yes a 4x4 and the dealer looked at everything and said it was fine but it is driving me nuts.

I imagine it is driving you nuts. Nothing worse than a noise you can't find. Good luck with it, maybe somebody will have an idea.

Can you jack up the truck and try turning the tire by hand? Try rotating while turning lock to lock. You mey need another hand to assist in turning the steering wheel.

Is there any vibration w/ the noise?

Vibrations in the Dodge front ends are known to be caused by bad hub bearings, steering linkage, ball joints, or u-joints.

the u joint would cause the wheel to jerk back and forth because it would lock up
