Nice camper  One thing caught my eye though....would be nice if it had more or bigger windows. One thing I wish I had on mine was the electric jacks. The specs mention an Onan or Honda genny,I have an EU3000(for the toy hauler)and love it.It runs all day or all nite on a tank of gas,is quiet and easy to start.

Leaks. That is why the lack of windows. It is in the design of the shell. I have a 2000 Honda. You don't put 3000s in campers

Did you ever end up getting anything Penguin?

I am really thinking about getting a camplite truck camper.

I really like the 6.8 but that would mean getting a different truck.

I don't think my 1997 has the payload capacity for the 6.8 dry much less loaded.

Would the camplight 5.7 be to small for my F150?

Hell no, I spent all my money on guns and a motorcycle :jester:

We are going to check them out in the fall when prices drop. They pull premium prices up here in the spring and summer.

There are some 1/2 ton specific units out there.

Guns and motorcycles are not bad either:thumbs:

Thank you for the tip about buying in the fall/winter. Did not even think about that.

Also the camplite 6.8 is a self contained unit for a 1/2 ton (They used a new generation F150 as the reference)

The unit weighs 1680lbs dry. My F150 only has about 1,365lbs of payload capacity according to everything I have read online.

So the 6.8 is a no go for my "1/2 ton". :(

I would throw airbags on and "risk" a 300# overgross, but that is just me.

I have overloaded every single truck I have owned, with a bit of common sense and the right equipment. Not advocating any dangerous methods, here, but 300# is doable.

**** the haters that may now rage.

All that said, if it is going to grow to 1000# over after you fill it with water, people, gear, etc, then you may want to seriously seek out another solution.

My thoughts.

If I was half-tonning again, I would get another travel trailer, like I had with ol' Blue. You can overload 2500/3500s with campers, but 1/2 tons get wasted with lots on their backs.
