Ok thanks guys, my Dad has a sandblasting booth that i'll use to take the rust off instead of just sanding them, so the paint will adhere the best

Sand, coat with Por-15, let sit for a few days, then spray paint shiny!!!!
That is good stuff.

Vans probably possesses a degree in rustology with all of those British jobs..

Damn Skippy!!!! If you need to know how to remove ANYTHING that is rust welded on, I know how!!!!

Antisieze is alot better than LocTite. When you do finally need to remove the bolt/nut, you can somewhat easily do so without having all this rubbery buildup to mess with.

I was doing some reading and a bunch of guys had some real problems getting the nuts off. A set of nuts was priced at $50 or $60. Hell I'd give it a try and see if you can get them out and sand/ paint them. Especially if they had them out to spray, you might just get lucky.

Probably just "jam" nuts and grade 8 bolts.

To help cut through the rust and get the nuts off easier, mix a 50/50 batch of ATF and acetone and squirt that on the nuts. Works better than 99% of the stuff on the market at freeing up rusted parts. Just remember, the acetone is very flammable.
Ouch.

Jeff, have you checked Tasca?
