Transmission Now

Well I already know where to take it ha my buddies dad owns a shop and we have a place we take all the transmissions

That's half of the battle right there, if you trust him ( which I'm sure you do) talk with him on what you want to do and let him fix you up.

Yeah, just rebuild it with maybe a shift kit, vette servo and a bigger cooler. If you don't have any plans to put down a significant amount of power then that is all that should be needed.

if you have a friend that can do it... let em. I rebuilt mine while in GM training, cost me 250 bucks.. thats with the converter being rebuilt and putting the good Z pack 3-4 clutch kit in it. My transmission didnt go out, the converter stator failed, but i had it out so i went ahead and did it, cause the fluid was trashed all through out.

Well took it to the shop today. Was talking to the owner about a corvette servo and he said he's just gonna put a shift kit in it when he rebuilds it!!

Also, be sure to flush the lines going to the radiator or cooler. If you had any metal particles come loose, they got in the fluid, and are in those lines too. The last thing you want is to install a fresh transmission and have it contaminated with some dirty fluid and metal particles once you install it.

The guy said he was gonna drain all the fluids and everything! He knew exactly what he was talking about and what to do! but for $1500 he better!!

Well it all keeps piling up on top of the transfer case my tranny went out today
