Transmission filter change on 02 Silverado

You may have said this already but how often do you suggest changing it?

I suggest that it get changed at 50k miles. I was lazy and as you can tell didn't get to it then. But from what I have seen it could have gone to 100k with no problems. If you buy your vehicle new and get a chance to change the fluid out at 10k to get the breakin floaty's out I don't see why you can't go to 50k on the filter change. Also go by the owners manual. Every vehicle is different to a point. Heck some don't have a filter like our 08 GMC Acadia.

I have 100k on the trans filter now. I guess it is time to change it out again. Fun fun.

Well you were right on the money about the 9 years!

LOL I finally stopped changing mine in the Tahoe, and just flushed the fluid every other year with synthetic
Those 2 bolts are hell
