Tow/Recovery/Snatch Straps

Hey guys, so I got an email from summit today that said I had $20 in reward bucks to spend, so I'm gunna get me a tow strap. Well I get the idea of a recovery/snatch strap, that they stretch and "slingshot" you out. Are recovery and snatch straps the same? Also I plan on using it for various things, like pulling out bushes, poles, etc. but also other vehicles. Would a recovery/snatch strap work ok for pulling out the other things too. What would be a good size and weight rating to go with, I'll probably go with a 30', but should I go 2" or 3"?

I'm looking at the Smittybilt, Macs custom tie downs, and highland brands, I'm thinking smitttybilt?

Recovery straps should be the same as a snatch strap...

Remember, steady pulls only with a tow rope!

I'd buy the heaviest rated strap you can afford. Overkill is a good thing when it comes to recovery straps.

I actually have 2, my small, 30' long one one, is rated at 3k lbs, and then I have the brute....a 16K lbs, for anything else, the only problem is, it's only 20' long, just remember...kinetic energy...its your friend!! I have backed up, built energy, stepped on the brake's, let the strap hold the tension, and slowly pulled a rig, that was stuck in the mud, once he was moving, I just started backing up, very easy on both truck's....I hate chain towing!!

I have one that's a tow (loop ends; 5,667lbs safe work load; 17,000lbs break strength; 20') and a recovery (hook ends; not sure of the rating, its outside in the truck and stays in the truck).

I think the loop ends are supposed to be stronger, but hook ends are more universal. The only way to use a loop strap like a hook is if you pull all 20+ feet of the strap through the loop to wrap it around something.

It's nice to have both to keep your options open. (I've only used my hook one twice and both times it was on dry pavement)

I keep a pair of 30' x 4" 20k (loop) straps in the truck, along with a 20' x 2" 8k hook strap. Used one of the 30's today in fact.

x a BIG fawking 2, man. I'll amend this to recovery equipment in general- if you have a winch, get one rated for as clse t 1.5 to 2 times yur vehicle's weight. When buying/fabricating recovery points, make/get them in as beefy a material as you possibly can and tie them in as far back as you can. ask me how I know, and why i advocate this...

Ok, well here's what I'm looking at

Smittybilt 3"x30' 30K recovery strap
Which would you guys reccomend?
Also I plan on getting a short strap for wrapping around trees, bushes, etc.
