Used to know a guy who worked at a fuel distributor in Austin as a dispatcher. I asked him about all of the brand name gasoline and how did they keep it straight. He said their trucks all filled up from the same tap at the distribution hub (all came from the same storage tanks), then went out and refilled all of the stations on the list... regardless of brand name. He swore that every station in town was buying the same gas from the company... even though some of them showed up in a truck with a brand name on the side...
I'd be careful what you pay extra for.
I still know people who will only buy a certain brand of gas. I laugh at them and just buy mine wherever I need to fill up.

Yeah but he was the distributor for the city. Fuel trucks came there to fill up. They were picking up finished product.
I'm betting much of that "additive" talk is marketing hooey.
