I am throwing around the idea of selling my stockers while they are still almost new and getting a new set of tires. I have a 2" leveling kit on the truck, and there appears to be plenty of fender clearance for these options. I will be keeping the stock 17x8 wheels, at least for now.

Option 1:

295/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers: Actual diameter=33.25", Width=11.61", 4.97% larger than stock. The nice thing about these is price=$195 ea, and they would probably be better suited for the amount of highway driving I do.

Option 2:

255/80/17 BFG MT KM2's: Actual diameter=33.06", Width=10.03", 4.42% larger than stock. I found them for $220 ea. The look a lot "cooler" and would do better offroad, but would be noisier on the highway. It would appear from reviews that treadlife would be as good or better than the Terra Grapplers.

Thoughts or opinions from those of you who have run either of these tires?

Have you looked at Toyo's?

If these two are your only choice, I would say the BFG's. I had a set on my old Silverado and they lasted 5 years with only 30% tread wear

These aren't the only options, I am trying to balance size with cost, though. I am not real fond of the 285/70/17 options I found that were around $200, and I think the slightly taller tires would look good.

I do too. It will fill in the fender wells since you plan to keep the stock wheels :D

Duratracs :) I kid. I would go with the BFGs of those 2 choices. They were my second choice.
