Yeh that insurance is way high. I'm only 17 and for my 06 600rr it's a little over $800, but that is with a multi-policy discount and all that stuff. But even so an older bike should be much cheaper.
Who do you have insurance through? I am going to check around and see if I can find cheaper for sure.

Well I just called my bank, they said if I get a signature loan I can run liablilty insurance. So I am going to do that, which costs about $350.00 a year.

Good deal man. I guess since you are getting it Friday you may be able to ride it a little bit before it gets to cold!

Maybe, I might wait 5 weeks to insure it so I can get a cheaper rate when I turn 25.

We have progressive, gieco quoted me about $1800 which is obnoxious. I've also heard many people getting good bike rates from state farm as well.

My motorcycle has 42k on it and is 27 years old. Just like a truck, if its well taken care of, it will last much much longer. I'd be asking for maintenance logs.

I have a policy through Progressive for only my motorcycle. I pay $127/yr for it. I'm 20 and that's the only vehicle I have through them.

I called today a few other places, I can get cheaper insurance but it's not much and it doesn't have the same coverage as my agent that I have our vehilces through. We carry $500,000.00 insurance because it is cheaper since the farm equipment to do that. So for $350.00ish a year on the bike I am getting $500,000.00 dollar coverage. I can drop it down to $100,000.00 but it only save me like $50.00 a year, IMO that isn't worth it. Never know what medical bills may come, and those rack up fast.
