Any of you guys have any real and personal experience with Skyjacker lift kits?

I'm really not interested in second and third-hand opinions here, I'm looking for actual personal experience.

I'm looking at a 3" kit for the White Tahoe.

Gracias.

The boys at Star here have installed a ton of Skyjacker stuff. I also have used their lifts kits on every one of my Jeep projects. Never had any issues other than one squeaky spring pack - which they promptly replaced.

I've also used Fabtech stuff on GM trucks. Really liked them too. They really seem to be geared up for GM.

I had 2 of them. We are talking 10+ years ago, though. Would I do it again based on those experiences? No. They were el cheapo, in my opinion. There were certainly better kits I should have purchased, but I was trying to budget. '87 1500, and '90 K5 Blazer
Shit, I even had Skyjacker lifted springs on my '78 Blazer, but that was a toy. Not so bad, other than being so damn stiff, and little flex.
-Cheap parts rusted quickly - shocks and "coated" parts
-Rode like hell. Very harsh.
-No flex in the 1/2 ton model. Stock was better.

I was asking too much, and I realize it. They are for looks,

I know none of this applies to the 'hoe, really, other than the mention of quality.

I thought you sold that white hoe?

Nah, still have it. It's not eating anything and the newer on is paid for so I have no real need to sell it right now. I've already got another lowered one, so I thought I might have some fun and go the other direction.

All Fabtech shows is 6" kits and I'm only looking for a more mild 3".

That less than 4" requirement narrows down my choices real quick.

Good info. Hopefully that decade+ has given them time to improve. There are some parts that don't look super industrial though. :dunno: That said, I'm not going to be out climbing rock piles and shit, just wanting something I can drive out through fields, deeper snow, etc.

The Skyjacker stuff on my Jeeps rode pretty well considering they were lifted Jeeps. No corrosion issues to worry about here, so I can't comment on that.

Well, this is a 12-year-old rig so if this kit looks like shit in a few years, I'm not going to be that upset. Besides, I can't find another 3" kit that's not a BL, anyway. I just don't need, or want, more.

I have used a lot of SkyJacker's stuff. I think they have some of the best kit sout there. That being said, I also think it depends on what you are using it on. I have had limited experiance with thier Chevy stuff. But I did like what I saw. One Ford 3/4 and one tons, I doubt I would use anything else.
