Ok most of you know I now have a 2001 honda accord. Right now I am using my buddies 12" sub woofer but it is only 400 watts max...it's shitty. The sub I had in my truck is a Kicker CVT Shallow mount 12". http://www.amazon.com/Kicker-07CVT1...MW6E/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1300976175&sr=8-6

My question is I need a box for this thing. My truck box was one that filled up the whole width of the truck and it's way to big for the trunk of this car. Should I keep this sub, since it is a shallow mount and just find a box for it or should I sell the box and sub as a package and then buy a new sub woofer (not shallow mount) and box? I'm just not sure about the bass output of these shallow mount subs compared to a regular sub.

I was looking into this box. http://subthump.com/Honda-Sub-Boxes/Accord/1998-2002-Honda-Accord-Coupe-or-Sedan-Subwoofer-Box.html

But those are so expensive, and I would build my own, but I don't have the tools to do it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. I have a 1000 watt amp.

I have just purchased my first shallow 10, A Fosgate P3, and I am impressed. You know for sure that you can't go wrong with a regular sub, though. If you have the room, get yourself a nice box and full size sub. If you need the space, pick a good quality shallow. I have read some good and bad depending on what brand you choose for the shallow.

I already have the 12" Kicker CVT, I just don't have a box for it other than the one I had in my truck, which is to big.

:werd:

I'm happy with my shallow 10", but would have a full-size sub if I had the room.

In your case, I'd buy or build a box.

If you cant build one look for a car audio place near you and see what they charge for what they have, or even check best buy. the other thing you can do is look into audio forums and look for someone around you that would help you build one.

I have a sealed box that I used to have in my monte carlo, it holds 2 10" subs, anyone have suggestions on a couple of decent 10" sub woofers? I would be running them on a 1000w max amp.

^I had those subs in my old ranger they were alright now I have them hooked up to my surround sound in my room ha ha. Why not go with some RE audio or Fi or something like those. How much are you wanting to spend.

I have about $200.00 from stuff I sold off the truck. I just want some decent subs that will work well with my amp. If I have to, I'll save some money to go with the $200.00, but I really don't want to spend a lot.
