Just think its weird that my 2000 SLE has 4 wheel disc... and this 05 SLT has drum in the rear... looks like this truck has like every option, besides being a denali... its not far from it.

In '05 they went with larger rotors in front, and drums in the rear (that's why '05+ trucks can't fit anything smaller than a 17" wheel).

Interesting... thanks.

Why should i be happy about the drum? Thought disc stops better?

Something in the design of the brakes... They pick up a lot of crud and kill the rotors... Especially in the mud...
Or something.

I've never had a problem on my Blazer, but a fair number of people have had some kind of issues in the 1/2 tons and larger trucks :dunno:

Not in the rear. From what I understand, the disc/disc setup on the GMT800s was junk and didn't make any appreciable difference in stopping distance.

I was concerned too when I bought my truck...but people told me the same thing...be happy. Plus, if nothing else...it will be cheaper to maintain in the future.
