the first body lift i've ever put on went pretty well. i did it by myself in a day. i finished up a few little things today and put the shackles on. i'll have to modify the front drive shaft because of the lift and maybe the rear but not much.
heres some pictures. by my measurements it should clear 39.5s pretty good.
, i just ordered some 5.38 gears, install kits, some quick disconnect straps for the doors, a spool for the rear, and a lock-rite locker for the front. looks like i'll have plenty to do next weekend.
here are a few picks i took of the bumper mocking up the mounting brackets. i should finish that this weekend.
thanks, i've actually got a big push bar like the center of your bumper that came with an old blazer i bought one time. i was going to mount that then build points off the sides like yours but i had a bunch of steel and figured what the heck lol.
i hadn't even clearanced out the front driveshaft yet but we wanted to ride so i took it out not even planning on having to use 4wd. well good news, it did great in 2wd since the extra lift but i got into a very small rut turning around and managed to get stuck on relatively flat ground lol. i felt like an idiot.
well as you can see i tried my damndist to get out in 2wd but i eventually put it in 4wd. after dumping the clutch a few times i heard a pop and then there was no more spinning. the rear u-joint broke, no big deal, but also something in the front broke because the front tires don't spin either. im thinking its just a hub since they are still factory and they're not that much to fix.
anywho pics and the last picture is of the 5.38 gears and lockers that came today.
as you can see this wouldn't have happened had i waited a week untill my lockers were in.
