I wish I had half of the shit your truck has, that headunit with all the fancy features, and the navigation is awesome. I wish I had a system sometimes. That remote start system is awesome too. I do plan to have a remote start by this fall, fwonk the walking out in the cold to start the truck to warm up.

I regret it sometimes, because I'm often low on money. It keeps me working during the semester, which shouldn't be necessary. On the other hand, it's always so stressful that I need a release, and working on the truck is it. I really enjoy adding new things, so it all balances out.

Thank you guys! It's the community of truck-modding fanatics that keep me going. Normal people just don't understand. :D

what did you paint your exhaust tips with? im thinking of doin that to mine because they never stay clean, theyre polished SS so theyll last a while but theyre dirty lol. when i remove the chrome rocker panel off my truck im goin to do more stuff black. i might even paint my roush grill as well...
A high-heat paint. There are two I can think of off the top of my head: BBQ paint and header paint. I've used both and have had better results with the header paint from Duplicolor. If you use a clear coat be sure it has a high temperature rating, too.

Mine still get dirty, but it's not as noticeable. More or less they just get dusty-looking.

yea but couldnt you just wash the dust off simply? no polishing or any of that shit. it gets old and i never have time to do it. shouldnt be hard to paint them. did you scratch up the surface on them or anything like that?

It washes off, yeah, but if you let it go too long it gets harder to bring it back to the new paint look. If you have the money I'd recommend getting them powdercoated. If not, just scuff them up as much as possible.

wouldnt i have to have them removed to powder coat them? i might as well buy new ones if i did that and then get them welded on.

Yes, you would. If I could re-do mine I'd get them powdercoated and run without tips while they were off. Much better solution in the long run.

Thanks, I appreciate that! It took a little driving around to find a nice spot to take pics during the snow. I can post up the big version if you want full-quality. :naughty:

Summit Racing has pretty good selection of tips

x2 I got mine from Summit. They are cheap Cherry Bomb tips, but one of the few rolled 4" tips that didn't have a huge brand name stamped on the end.

I talked to a guy about powder coating my step rails a while back and he said it would be about $100. Tips would be cheaper, but of course it all depends on where you live.

are your tips angled? like a 45 degree slash.

Nope, rolled tips straight out the back. I got tired of cleaning my painted tips. It's a beast to keep them clean when 45'd since the tires sling everything on them.
